I have had some PM's with interest on doing some yote hunting during the p-d hunt.
We will be meeting up for breakfast around 7-7:30 each morning. From there we will split up and head out to the shooting fields for p-dogs. We will more then likely meet up with everyone at lunch to shoot the breeze and rotate out groups so everyone gets a chance on different towns. Each town provides a bit of varied shooting opportunites.
You are more then welcome to go coyote hunting in and around Hobbs. You can do this early morning or during the p-dog hunting. I am going to work up a map of the surrounding areas and mark off some areas that I would suggest to go, but since NM has about as much public land as TX has private there are numerous places to go. I will have to stay with the groups on the p-dog slaying fields but I assume there will be plenty of extra vehicles to use on a yote hunt.
As you veterain p-dog hunters know, the mist factor is quite addictive and not many of our dog hunters take time off to sit and call up yotes. If you are wanting to it is available and we can sit down and work up a game plan once everyone is in Hobbs. I would think that a morning yote hunt would be best since you could meet up with us on the lunch break and spend the afternoon making p-dog soup.
