ICMCumin I would be glad to get togeather after the hunt, but I've got to get back to Richmond. My wife is threating to kick my dog and sell my best shotgun if I don't spent a little time at home. ( last week I stayed at the gun club to long.) I really would like to meet every one. My days off are Fridays and Sat. But it is, have truck will travail,no coyote to far and I've still got ammo. buzzsaw

Ok. The coyotes are still breathing. Met MarkB at the whataburger in La Grange. I was only 10 min. late, no reason other than my head was still on the pillow. 1st stand, wind in our face, call volume set low, so far so good. We have a hawk check out the caller. Some-thing catches my attention in my pripheral vison. So I'am having a debate in my mind, coyote or something else. Answer "woof" followed by another "woof" going away from us. So it's on to the second stand. We walk across 300 acres to the far side of the ranch. We set up above the river. I start the call playing a injured bird sound. MarkB see's four doe's cross off to his left, not much of a chance for a shot. Caller playing and a mocking bird trying his best to sound like the tape. Thats when it all began to go wrong, wrong, wrong. I have never seen a crow invasion like this. I've called crows, I've shot crows, but I have never seen so many come in and land so close. After about ten min. of this. I can't stand it any longer and these vermin have got to die. That has to be the luckest crow in the usa right about now cause I missed his ******. So we move off again. Set up at the bottom of a draw where it intersects the fence line. MarkB on one side of the caller with me on the other side. MarkB has a coyote work down the fence line toward him. Before Mark can get a shot the coyote turns off and is gone. I am not ready to give up on the first stand. I know better but we go back to the area, only we move deeper into the cover. We get set up and about ten min. into the set a neighbor drives down the fence line. I wanted to get Mark a shot at something. I had told him earlier that we could always shoot crows. We get to a area and set up the caller and started the call. You can not find a crow with in ten miles of the place now. I want to thank Mark for showing up and putting up with me while I make a lot of noise with a mp3 player. Mark you are welcome to come any time I find any hunting up your way. buzzsaw

Great re-cap of the day. I just wanted to add that I had a great time hunting with buzzsaw. He's one of the nicest guys you'll ever run into. Even though we got skunked, I felt like the day was a success. I got to get out of town to hunt and meet a heck of a nice guy. And in my book, a bad day hunting beats just about any other type of good day you can have. And by the way buzzsaw, I found myself going to the Bushmaster web site and "browsing" a little after I got home this afternoon Thanks again buzzsaw.
