Hey Byron,
What did the doc say about your knee? If you already posted about it I missed it. Been working a lot lately.

Thanks for asking Slammy. I went to an orthapedic doctor teusday. He did some x-ray's and we don't think anything is tore. He drained pint or more of fluid off of it, and sent it to a lab for test. I stuck a thorn in my knee in Arizona about three weeks ago. He said Arizona had some weird funguses that could be causing it, or it could be infected. If it is a fungus they can treat with antibiotics, and if it is an infection they will have to cut it open, and scrape it out. We are praying we don't have to cut. I have paid hunters coming starting in about ten day's and I can't take being down for anytime at all. I won't know about the test results until Wednesday. On top of all of that I'm leaving in the morning taking an outdoor writer hunting for three day's. He is aware of my condition, but he has to do it now for it to come out in Febuary ( Texas Fish & Game Magazine)
Thanks again Slammy.
Byron
PS; It doesnt seem to be getting worse, or better, and it doens't seem to hurt as bad. Or maybe I'm just getting used to it.

Whoo Wheeee, I watched a dang ole doctor pull about that much off Patsy's knee one time. It went down and got well. That was years ago and it hasn't re-occured. Mine just swole up about two years ago. I just got off of it for a few days and it slowly went down. I didn't remember hurting it, I guess just too much up and down rough country. Naprosyn (Aleve) is good to keep inflamation and swelling down. Hope they don't have to cut you. Good luck with your hunters.

Byron sounds like you need a 4wd electric wheelchair. ;D Hope it gets better I've seen my moms knee drained so many times it was bad once when an inexperienced DR ran the needle into her knee bone. She let out a chain of expletives that made me blush

Hey Byron, I was waiting for your update. I hope they can knock it out with the medication!! I don't envy your three days with the writer and that knee. At least he is from Texas and will probably understand a bit better and try to work with you. Please let us know how it goes when you return in the Coyote forum. This is the worst time of year to have that happen to you. Get Better, Bob If you want me to, I will bring my custom ATV up for you to use while you are on the mend. It is a state of the art masterpiece.......

Just like I've always heard... It takes a REAL MAN to wear a PINK SHIRT... But.... does that hold true for a PINK SEAT?

Thanks Bob , I just got back from Abilene, and was thinking of contraptions all weekend to get me through the winter if I couldn't get my knee dill worked out. That thing is way better than anything I had come up with. It rained all weekend, but we did manage to call in a few coyotes. The writer ( Gregg Rodrigez ) was a real nice guy, and not new to predator hunting. My knee is doing about the same. I go back on Wednesday to hopefully get the low down on what were gonna do. Thanks guys Byron

Hey Byron,
Wish I had known you was going to be in town this weekend and I would have tried to catch up to ya for a hello or handshake right quick. What area did ya'll call in if you don't mind me asking? We had them singing all around us this morning while out hog hunting. Hope the knee heals up good and quick. Take care!

:-[Hey Byron... I've been there and still doing the bad knee thing too. Had mine 'scoped a few years ago, but not "tightened" so that bugger goes out at the most inconvenient times. Like on a elk hunt, and your climbing the side of a mountain of shale rock, and your knee pops out, and you start sliding down the hill hoping you're gonna stop!

I had a great time hunting with Byron. The hunting was tough because of the weather, but I enjoyed Byron's company. It was pretty amusing watching Byron gimping around like he had an artificial leg, but he wouldn't quit.
