Hey Everett,
We have the information about hood in a link earlier in this thread. Here is what we have:
The Hood contest is for amateurs only.....no professional guides or factory teams are allowed. You can reach Hood Taxidermy at (903)883-5313.
"It will be Feb. 21st.Sign in will be from 2-4 Sat. The hunt will begin at 5pm and will end Sunday morning at 8 sharp (and he doesn't mean 8:01). 1-3 man teams $20 a man. Then of you want its another $10 a team for biggest dog and another $10 for biggest cat. Cats are 100 points, dogs 75 and fox 25. But in case anyone wants to know you must have a trappers liscence to bring in more4 than one fox. "
Good Hunting,
Bob

Hood's tournaments are usually ran very well. Most of the teams that hunt this contest have been since he started having them several years ago. I have though seen some animals come in that looked to have been dead a lot longer than 24 hours. But where theres money theres cheating, always has been, always will be. I've only missed a few of his hunts and do not know of anyone caught cheating in the past years. All in all this is a good contest and he usually gives away a few door prizes as well. Hope to see you there.

okcoyote,
All the contests in this area you have to have your own place to hunt prior to the contest - whether its your own personal land or land you have permission by the landowner to hunt. The contests in this area assign certain points for certain animals. The contest last from 8 hrs to 26 hrs and the team with the most points at the end wins. They usually have side pots for heaviest bobcat and heaviest coyote that will pay one or two places. We always have a ton of fun whether we win any $$$ or not. Pot sizes will range from a couple hundred dollars to several thousand dollars for 1st place.
