;D This is not a calling story but it is pretty funny . A friend of my dad's that is disabled was spring turkey hunting in Arkansas near Leslie . We had some land leased that was surrounded by paper company land and one other piece of property that was posted . Just across the fence on the posted land there was a big gooseberry patch . Well old big John decided that a gooseberry cobbler would be real good to go with supper . He stopped his four wheeler by the fence and stepped over thinking that the owner wouldn't mind if he took a few berries . Big John pulled off his camo jacket , bent over and proceded to pick berries . About 15 minutes later John was still bent over and he heard this grunting and he said it sounded like someone clearing their throat . Well he said he figured he had been caught by the owner of the property and was fixing to take a chewing out . He looked between his legs and there was a Black Bear a few feet away eating berries . He said that he made record time (for a disabled guy) getting back over the fence and when he got on his four wheeler he looked back at the berrie patch and the bear was cutting a trail for the next county . He said the moral to this story is that when land says posted they just might have a trained bear guarding the berrie patches . That is the only time that I can ever remember Big John going on land that he didn't have permission to be on . And I don't think he ever will again , the bear made a lasting impression on him . My dad was always sure to remind him of this . My dad has passed on now but I think I'll call Big John up this spring and see if he wants to go turkey and berry hunting .

Odie and I went hunting and called in Mikie, haven't been able to get rid of him since. Haul him off down the road and he finds his way back. He does have a good nose on him.

Well of course I'm the good, Odie is the bad and Mikie is the exceptionally ugly one. Actually we have worked together for about 20 years and we have kinda grown on each other, kinda like warts.

Hey ICM if you ever get a look at Bennie you will know who the ugly one is. Just remember don't look directly at his face you will start to cry then turn to stone.AS for Odie you will just feel sorry for him when you see him. His dog's try to bite him.
