Rick, If you don't find any horns, you can have some of these. We have one bear out of his den already. If the weather stays warm like it has been, they will all be out soon. The deadline for applying for spring bear is only a week away. If you apply, go for the Blue Creek Unit.

I told you boys that Rich C built the best dang bear call out there. I know many of you build realy nice calls, I just wanted to give credit where its due.
If any of the rest of you that build bear calls would like to work out a trade let me know... a guy can't never have to many calls,,,,,,LOL

Hey Rick, I like the idea of an elk antler bear call. I have already been thinking about that. Look at the photo below of the small elk shed. What about cutting off six to eight inches off an antler like this (the burr end), and then cutting off the brow tines and sanding them smooth. Then step drill down through the burr end, starting with a large paddle bit like 1 1/2". You would have to reduce the size of the mouth piece end. It would not weigh much after it was hollowed out. I could cut up some of these small antlers and send them to you if you like. I also have a spike elk shed that would be good for this. I could even drill the large holes for you if you want to try to make us a couple. ;D Bob  |
