I just received a batch of Hornady .204 Ruger ammunition today. I should have my chamber reamer next week, and will be firing a Tromix AR in .204 Ruger by next weekend. I'll let you guys know how it shoots.

Well if Remington brings us the .204 then I'll buy one, but Ruger's accuracy record is WAY too spotty for me to take another chance on. Do you think that Ruger keeps mentioning the .223 case to confuse us reloaders? lead us to buying Hornady's brass?

BTW...Remington and CZ will be chambering for this soon so those with the special orders in, Ruger is NOT your only choice!

just got this april edition of petersens hunting mag.. decent artricle by rick jamison about the 204 ruger.. he claims it has 'killer' accuracy.. first three shots into .31 inches , fourth shot opens up to.45 inches and the fifth shot to .81 inches... 10 shots went into .94 inches.....now this was prototypw with a custom tube.. when fired into animal glue medium the bullet fragmented on impact......but what can u expect at a muzzle vel. of 4150 fps. blow up on shoulders for sure. i reckon that i am just pig headed.....i will stick with my trusty 22-250.....

OK COYOTE, gun writers are not known for thier honesty. Have you ever read an article that did not sing the praises of what ever was handed to them by an advertiser?

Gentlemen, according to the data that is comming out about the .204 ruger, I think that the Tact20 that Todd Kindler developed is looking like a more efficent cartridge.
I know from 2+ years of shooting mine that I have never shot a flatter shooting, barrel friendly caliber in my life. It will do things that my old standby,22-250 could not do without doing barrel damage. 3 years ago I would have told anyone who tried to sell me on a cartridge that was smaller, by almost 1/3, out performing my 40x 22-250, that they were full of %$#$.
After shooting this mini rocket for over 2 years, I find myself grabing it all the time and My trust in the caliber has grown me over. If you haven't tried this cal. you owe it to yourself to check one out. Shoot one if you can, you'll instantly know what I'm talking about.
Ruger hasn't realy impressed me in a long time with their rifles or their hype...... Just my thoughts
