Well I finally did it. I walked into the gun shop this morning and before I could leave I had to buy me another rifle. I have been debating with myself over this for sometime now and after holding it in my hands and getting a real good look at it I couldn't stand it any longer. I am the proud owner of a new Winchester model 70 super shadow in .223 WSSM. ATTENTION ALL COYOTES AND BOBCATS.......................GO AHEAD AND HANG UP AT 300 YDS CAUSE I GOT YOUR NUMBER NOW!!! I was hoping to rig it out with a real nice laminated thumbhole stock but no one has them right now and one from a custom shop just costs way too much (more than the rifle itself). Thats o.k. they will be available before too long. Once I get it rigged out I will post a pic of it for everyone to see. Until then I have to come up with a good story to tell the wife how a new rifle found its way into the gun cabinet. ;D

That rifle should give new meaning to the phrase "reach out and touch someone". Let us know how it works on those smart yotes that think sitting on their hauches at 300 yds and staring at the speaker is safe.

If it needs field testing ship the rifle and I'll take to Globe Az for a work out. Ok, Ok.

Well I almost had a melt down today!! I bought me a Burris 3x9x40 scope for it today and then went to get some bases and rings for it. Rings were no problem to find, but it took 6 phone calls with the 6th call being the last place to look before we found any bases. Its ready to be sighted in tomorrow evening after work and then come Saturday its going to be put to the test. Our first varmint calling contest of the yr is this weekend so I should have a field report by late Sunday evening.

She got pearls and emeralds for Christmas so that should work. ;D ;D
I took it out this evening and sighted it in and on the 6th shot she was 1 inch high at 100 yds and dead center. I shot several groups with it, but nothing to brag about as of yet. Tomorrow will be the real test as the first coyote steps out for a shot. I will keep ya'll posted on its performance.
