Since reading on this board and others I have purchased both a nikon monarch 3.5 x10 with a 50mm objective and a Burris ff2 in a 3 x9 also with a 50mm objective. I have the nikon on a rem. 700 in 223 that i use for night hunting and am very impressed so far. I have just mounted the Burris on a rem.700 in 243 and have not even sighted it in as of yet. I did ask a friend to look through them both the other night while I was holding a red light on a trailer about 100 yards out and he went back and forth as to which was clearer. I also have a vari XIII in a 1.75 x 6 with a 32 mm objective and have never been totally impressed with it although it does hold zero very well and is still mounted on a cz 527 fs in 223 that I use mostly as a daytime gun. The other gun scope combo that gets some use is a simmons aetec with a 44 mm obj. on a rem. 700 in 22-250. This scope has given me no problems so far however the reason I went to the Nikon is for much better night hunting as my right eye is not all it used to be. Sorry about the length Dennis

Hey Dennnis I think you are going to like the Monarch. I have gotten 4 of them. I also want to try the new FF-II with the Ballistic Plex reticle. Keep us posted! Good Hunting, Bob

Bob, Yes I do like the Monarch and as I said I had a friend that is looking for a scope, look through the Monarch and the Burris and he went back and forth, however when he finished he decided the Burris was the choice for him. I will let you know what I think after I give it some field trials.

Buy American, buy Burris or Leupold.
