I now own a $70 gadget that I guess my son can play with in the backyard. I've got lots of toys like this too.

Kaptkb I have one that I use and truly like it when I am hunting by myself without my R. Watson lookalike highchair. I also have two extra batteries I carry and have not had a batt. drain too fast. The only problem I have encountered was the cord getting tangled up with a headache rack and keeping me from shooting a mountain lion. I also have a mobile charger when necessary.

I don't think a bigger battery would help much. The light just didn't shine the distance I was hoping for. Once I get my varmint rig revamped I won't need it anymore. ;D ;D Problem is getting the time to revamp the rig. Once I do the yotes better watch out!!

I use an Optronics marine light on my four wheel drive hunting truck.
I fabricated a rack for the back of the pickup. The floor of the rack is level with the roof of the pickup. I installed two case backhoe seats that I mounted in some small spindles I took off a small trailer. From the front of the seats I welded a bar the extends upward at about a 30 degree angle. At the top of the bar I welded a piece of pipe about 9 inches long. It forms a T at the top of the upward bar. I also made it where the T part is adjustable up and down.
I had to remove the original handle from the light and fabricated an extension off the back. It is about 12 inches long. That way we can set in the chairs and not have to lean forward to sweep the light.
The light comes with a bracket so it can be mounted to any flat surface. The bottom of the u shaped bracket that holds the light fits into the mounting bracket. With this set up it makes the light have the ability to move up and down and left and right. By applying tension to the screw that holds the light to the bracket it makes it where you can let go of the light and it will stay in the position where it is.
It seems to work quite well. I have also added some KC lights to the front of the rack which I wired to a 12D battery that I mounted in the bed of the truck. Each light is controlled by a seperate switch.
I also installed a battery isolator to keep the truck system and the light system seperate. When I start the truck it charges not only the truck battery but the 12D battery as well. When on a stand though it automatically seperates the two systems, allowing me to use only the 12D battery for the lights, and keeping me from have to walk because of a dead truck battery.

It's always nice to find a company that stands behind it's product. Harder and harder to find these days in the age of huge impersonal corporations.
