C1PNR,
Thanks for the tip. I have floated the barrel. I haven't bedded the action yet, but I think that's next. I will let everyone know what the results are.

Try 35 gr of IMR 4064 to start and a max of 38.0. The swift has always been my favorite cartridge and IMR 4064 the go to powder. They go together like Lester and Earl.

texasshooter, Like a lot of these guys, I've been loading for the Swift for more than 25 years. I consider to be my favorite coyote round. I guess I've tried all the old 'favorite' loads/powders. I stumbled across an article in an old Shooting Times magazine, by Layne Simpson about the Swift, also HIS favorite. One of his suggested powders was Accurate 2520. I had never seen it in any loading manuals for the Swift, but I had a lot of it that I had been using for a load in my unlimited IHMSA silhouette gun, so I tried it. 2520 is a ball powder, so it meters extremely well in any powder measure. In short, it has become THE powder of choice for me. Also, like Ken Waters, I believe in magnum primers for ball powders; you just have to be conservative when building up a load. In my current Swift, I shoot 38.5 grs. of 2520, a Federal 215 primer, and 50 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip bullet. NOTE THIS IS A MAXIMUM LOAD! One of my hunting buddies who has also become a believer in 2520, cannot use this much in his Swift; he loads 37 grs.-also maximum. Since going to AA 2520, I have loaded for several Swifts and have not found one that didn't like it. My second choice is Reloader 15. Good shooting, Bob (gunsetc)

W-W brass, WLR primers, Reloder 15 powder, ( I'm not close to my notes, and I don't remember how much), Speer 52 gr HP's (with the BIG hole). Very consistent .315 groups at 100 yds. Wish it was MY rifle, instead of my vet's. OH YEAH, and it's a Ruger 77, who says they won't shoot? Mark
