Bluedog: If your are getting 5/8" groups with a different bullet, then it ain't the powder or the rifle. I shoot V-max bullets in a 22-250 with a 1-14 twist. Before going to extremes, try going to a 40 or 50 grn
V-Max. SOME, I repeat, SOME rifles with a 1-14 twist like smaller bullets. When I had my rifle built, my gunsmith begged me to put on a 1-12 or 1-10 twist barrel just for that very reason. You might want to back out to .0010 off the lands and see if that helps.
