OK Doc, how does the call work? I seen the call at the Academy here but was waiting for an update to see if it was worth buying. Then again you can never and I mean never have too many calls! ;D

OK, heres the update on the Boss Hawg call,it works great,I used it in South Texas at the Ranch and tonight on a bud's place I called in over 15 on the So.TexasRanch and tonight I called in a few smallier hogs before it got to dark to see as I was Hunting for a special Buck that has a growth under his chin.I am planning on taking it out of the Herd and doing a few test on it. ok Back to the Boss Hawg call it is great,I blow it only 4 times in a short but loud blasts.the hogs came in at a slow run but did stay around for a good piece. I would stay its a Keeper,I have now added it to my call string.
If you have hogs in the Area, and would like to see how it works let me know I will come out and call for you.

I never really thought about trying a hog call, interesting.... I wonder if they would work at Granger WMA, the hogs get a lot of pressure out there....

;)I've used a Knight & Hale hog caller which allows in & out blowing to get a true GRUNT. Has been O.K., never tried Haydels!

Hey guys, Just went over to the academy in mcallen and brownsville but wasnt able to find haydels call. All I found was the woods wise scream call which is suppoed to imitate a young pig in danger. Was wondering if there was any way I can send a money order to one of ya'll to purchase the call for me since the academys down here will no longer carry it. Thanks, Jaime

I just today went over to the academy in Mcallen and I found the hog call. Doesn't it sound a little like a doe bleat? Well, now time to find a place to try the call to see how it works. TexasDoc are you using the same noise pattern used in the website or do you have a better method of calling them in? Thanks, Jaime

texasdoc, please fill us in on your calling pattern. I bought the call also and am going to try it out soon, but was curious on how you used it and how you set up.

When you use the Boss Hawg call,I alway blow it in a forcefully bit even blow and work your hand over the openned end so it sounds like 2 big boars are getting in to it. I also blow in to it as hard and then work off it fast and come back to it hard. what you are trying to do is make it sound like a boar fight,I nornally blow it for 4 to 6 sets and then stop, wait a few minutes and do it again.
I hope this helps.
