Took my nephew out this past weekend on a blackbuck doe hunt near Junction, Tx. The ranch wanted to get rid of some of the doe's and we were more than happy to help. After battling the snow, yes it did indeed snow in Buffalo, Texas, we headed out very slowly Saturday morning to west Texas. Driving into the ranch there was no doubt this guy had some blackbuck.!! We met up with him and got settled in and he headed out to drop us at a waterhole. As we topped the hill a group of at least 50 split up and headed for the hills. We got settled and waited patiently for some sign of em returning. The wind was brutal but we hung in there and sure enough they made their way back. At about 75yds my nephew let loose and she dropped in her tracks!!! We had a ball and both of us wound up taking 2 doe a piece before the weekend was over. I was really proud of him and glad to be there for his first ever kill. Printed him up an 8X10 to take home with him today....along with his meat of course!! Here is one of mine taken that same day. What a great weekend!!
