One of these (actually the top one) It is a flame maple box made by my friend Bud Nadeau. I will also be using this pot and striker set (the diaphragm is long gone) It was made by Brent Saxton (Keekeeyelp) of Saxton's Custom Calls, it is a double ended striker, one end purrs nicely the other putts. I have never hunted turkeys before, I hope I am better at it, than I am at predator hunting. Krusty

I'll be taking a box call made by Craig King, Widow Maker Calls. He also made me a scratch box. I'll have a Glass/Slate made for me by Andy Kaiser, Kaiser Kall's. I'm new to the mouth call's but I'll have some H.S. Strut mouth call's. I'll also have the Freak by Primos. Ol yeller sla-tek from Knight & Hale. I also bought a Penn's Woods Waterproof Wizard that I think sound's pretty good to be a product line box call. I have look in every pocket and I guess I planted quite a few striker's in the wood's last year, so guess who's going shopping for striker's.......................... Unless you think the one's I planted had little one's since last spring. ;D ;D I'm like any and all hunter's, I'm still looking for that one magical call that does it all.

You guys are just putting me to shame here - all I have is some camo, a turkey hunting vest, an owl locater call, a couple of Lynch box calls and my Benelli.
They all do a pretty good job, though.
Man those flame maple calls are almost too good lookin to take into the field.

:)Hey ICM.... you da man, I used that Lynch for so long I think the sides wore out. Finally grabbed this one last spring and really liked it. Has a real unique double-tone "hi-lo" sound to it! You can check them out out : www.mossdoubletone.com

New to go into the turkey woods this Spring are: 1. Andy Kaiser Zebrawood glass call 2. One of my box calls and will alternate with a box by Doug Camp. 3. 2 or 3 new diaphram calls I don't have yet. Old favorites that always go: 1. Palmer Hoot tube 2. Homemade wingbone yelper 3. Super-aluminator high frequency aluminum call. 4. homemade tube call 5. Metcalf Cutter and Primos True Double (stack frame) mouth calls. 6. 4 or 5 different strikers 7. Olt crow call If that ain't enough I'll find some more.

i am sorta embarrased to say what i use for callin turks. but i been embarrased before. i have about a half dozen mouth calls.....cant remember the makes.....had for too long to remember. also have a couple of lil dueces and one alumiwitch. and a world champion box call..... they seem to work....i try new mouth calls each year....if they dont sound good or if they are hard to make turkey talk i dispose of them. never tried to tune a mouth call....any of ya'll do that. ?

okcoyote, I'm kind of like you in the way that if my mouth calls don't sound like I think they should I discard them. Other than trimming them to make them fit my mouth I don't try to alter the sound on them. For one thing I would just be guessing as what to do to get a certain desired sound. I once tried to make a mouth call a little more raspy by cutting a couple notches in it. I cut one toward each side and ruined the call and had to toss it. That was my last attempt.
