Well, I'm gonna put one of GonHuntin's custom predator calls to the test this Spring. PM'd him earlier and told him I wanted one for a locator call on Turkeys. Told him I wanted one that would scream...something extremely loud.......something that would scare the bajezzus out of them Gobblers(I think he thought I was NUTS  ), he PM'd me back a short while later and said he had just what I needed, he went thru a few sets of reeds and found a set that would not lock up, no matter how hard he would blow...said it made his ears hurt it was so loud....I said.."SOLD" ;D Can't waite to try it out!!!! |

Hey Shane - what have you used up to this point. I normally use a hoot owl or crow call. The crow works best for me........  |

ICMC, I have used/use crow, owl, yote, dog whistle, my own voice..you name it I think i have tried it. But all have been mass produced calls, I'm a sucker for custom calls, got all sort of custom turkey calls...but all my locator call have been mass produced calls....so when i seen Gonhuntin's post on his calls, thought what the heck....may be just the ticket....you know how us kids and our toys are.

::)Ha!... the best one that I've used recently was my corn feeder... I was checkin it out this fall, and every time I set it off... the tom's would answer back I did this about three times. Finally, the monster tom came up, and we were staring eye-ball to eye-ball  As I reached for my bow, he took to the air!  |

Sorry Joe...our opens April 3. ;D. If you have ever thought about hunt'n some of these Loud Mouthed Texas Rios, maybe we can work out a hunt swap next Spring.  Kinda got my boat loaded this Spring, have some buds coming over from Louisiana and some down from Canada....but maybe next spring. |
