Washington State. We have Easterns, Rios and Merriams here, we get two turkey tags over the counter (first one free with our small game tag). We can take two birds (Easterns) from western Washington... FAT CHANCE! ...and one (M or R) from eastern Washigton. We can't go at it until April 15... which is about three weeks late for my liking, the birds always scatter about two weeks before the opener. Once the hens are nested in, the Toms pretty much give up on chasing hens anymore, and wont respond to anything... Krusty

Krusty have you gotten any turkies before? That would be fun to chase different turkies than the Eastern. Our turkey season is April 21st to May 9th.

Matt, Nope, I never have. I don't hunt turkeys, I just hunt for turkeys... I have never found any to bother sitting down and calling. So far scouting this spring has been dismal, I haven't a clue where any birds are. I mostly am coyote hunting anyways, and if I get lucky and a suicidal tom turkey strolls up, I'll blast it too. That's the sweet thing about the Armsport 20 ga O/U I use... it has double triggers, and I can drop 3" buckshot in the mod. tube and a Federal #6 magunum turkey load in the full choked tube. I can light off one or the other, or both! If a coyote comes he's getting both bbls! Krusty

Hey Camo, ask her to hold out till the 21st of April....thats the best day of all...my bd ;D My wife and I have two kids, one boy and one girl......and just hope and pray she don't have a girl, or atleast don't let that little girl work you like my 5 yr old girl does me.......I'm a sucker when she comes and sits in my lap and says " Daddy, I love you so much, can I get a new babydoll at the store today?" Man I just melt, my Wife even tells me how big of a sucker I am. I just pray I never have to hear " Daddy, I love you so much, can I have a candy apple red corvette" It's funny, I have no problem telling my 10 yr old son NO, but that little girl knows just what to do. But I wouldn't trade it for all the money in the world. Taner my 10 yr old son has turned into a TOP NOTCH HUNTER, and now Rylee, my little girl has already been asking where her guns are like bubbas. Ya gotta love it, dang sure aint raising no treehuggers down here!!! ;D Camo besure and keep us up to date on the Little Camo. Congrats to you and your Wife....there is nothing greater than kids.
