Little woman and I got back Wednesday from Kansas, did a two day hunt for pheasant and chukar and had a blast. We took 17 pheasant and 10 chukars, and yes it was at a shooting resort, but the birds flew very well and were not gimme birds. I looked all over and this place had the best deal, couldn't find anything reasonable in the state of texas to compare, could hunt there for two days what it would have cost for one day here and you don't have to pay for extra birds. Great hunt and excellent time was had by both , will do it again. This was our second trip here.

Well done Bennie, Being a South Dakotan and a pheasant hunter I keep track of the competition as it were and Kansas has some terrific pheasant country. State pride keeps me from admitting it is as good as South Dakota ;D but I sure would love to have easier access to those chukars you got ahold of. Do you have any experience with public land hunting in KS? Game lodge hunting is a little beyond for the time being.

NEsodak, No I have never hunted public land in Kansas, I have hunted some around Lake Andies, South Dakota, but mostly private land there too. It was horrible around Lake Andies last year and we stopped at this resort on the way home from South Dakota. First time I had hunted over pointers and had such a great time decided to try and do it as an annual thing. Really like South Dakota country though, really a beautiful place. Hopefully I can get a chance to go back there. Chukars are about the best eating bird there is IMHO, like a suped up quail. Harder for me to hit than a pheasant. If you ever find yourself in need of a shootin partner up there give me a holler.
