Anyone ever use a 16 ga. for ducks. My Great grandfather used to use nothing else. I found a Belgium made Browning Sweet 16 in a pawn shop in Waxahachie. I had been reblued with a matte finish an looked pretty good other than a missing sight bead, the safety worked but wouldn't lock (moved from side to side). I got the gun and took to a friend, Point Blank Gun Repair in Silsbee, TX, who can work miracles with guns, along with an old Browning Light Twelve of my grandfathers. On the Sweet 16, he fixed the safety (broken spring), gold plated the trigger(was wearing off), replaced sight bead, and replaced a missing screw. I used that gun this past season for wood ducks in my secret spot and took it on a squirrel hunt with some friends and their dogs and I have never had so much fun shooting a gun.

I have a lot of friends that use the 16 for ducks and quail and pheasants and have never heard a discouraging word from any of them about this gun. My former boss is from South Dakota and has hunted pheasants a whole bunch. He has one and won't hunt with anything else. Those old humpbacks are good guns. Wonder why Browning quit making them? Humpback owners are like 870 and Benelli owners - lots of loyalty. Sounds like yours is just getting broken in good....
