Cartridge Question

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this cartridge is. It was given to me, and you can tell it is a military load by the military crip on the primer.

I can only gather so much from the picture, but if I had to guess I'd say a 7mm Mauser, possibly an 8.

Thank's Dave, this has been bugging me ever since I got it.

I have ordered the 10th Edition of Cartridges of the World by Franck C. Barnes, Wildcat Cartridges by Wolfe Publishing and Modern Sporting Rifle cartridges by Wayne Van Zwoll. These should help me idenify most if not all Cartridge's in the future.

Ok I got some new play pretty's in the mail today (three book's, Cartridge's of the world 10th edition, Wildcat Cartridge's Vol 1and 2 Combo edition and last but not least Modern Sporting Rifle Cartridge's)

The bullet in the picture I posted has turned out to be a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser.
