Hunting with 6 little girls. It was a Great hunt

Ok let me start out by saying,this 6 young ladys took my hunter Ed.Class over the past year and all made 100's on there final Test. So I took them hunting. I had my 2 girls ages 11 (soon to be12) and 13 plus 4 other young ladys that are 12 13 and 14 years old. They brought a Guide as in some one older then 18 with them 3 of them had there mom's with them and Sammy had her dad. all but 2 of them had been hunting for at least 4 year before this hunt.

ok, now to the first morning I put them out in Blinds that had feeders so they would have lots of game out in front. Everyone saw lots of game, they took 5 Doe's,3 Feral Goats,1 Rio Grande Turkey,1 Bobcat. that evening i set them back out a the same blinds and they took 4 Doe's, 1 Rio Grande Turkey,3 Feral Hogs. this morning they wanted to change blinds so i choose a few new places to hunt,and they took 3 Doe's,4 Feral Goats 1 Rio Grande Turkey,4 Feral hogs.

So everyone had the best time,I really enjoyed have this girls here,and might start a hunting Program for this type of hunting,As i can use them as aManagement tool and get them out.

What do yall think??? I trust yall's opinion of this,offer this program to Hunter Ed Grad's that make 100's on there Test.

here is a break down on how took what:

Steph and Kathy are mine

Steph,she took 3 doe,1Rio Grande Turkey,2 feral goats

Kathy took 1 doe,Bobcat,1 Hog,1 feral Goat

Fran took 2 Does,1Feral Goat,2 hog

sammy took 2 doe,1 Feral goat, 1 hog,1 Rio Grade Turkey

Teri took 2 doe,1 feral Goat,3 hogs

kris took 2doe,1feral Goats,1 hog,1 Rio Grande Turkey

They had the time of there Lives here,Plus we ate good to as Teri's mom is a Chef and fixed us the best meals I have had in a long time.

As for the Deer that they don't wnat /or need will be Donated to hunt for teh Hungery in Austin this week.

I have ofer to have the Hogs and Goats Mounted if they want one of them done.


Hope this is going to be a yearly event for me and the Wife as we both enjoyed it.

Hey Doc,

What a weekend!! I can't even imagine how rewarding this must be for you. I think your idea is an excellent one. If you ever need an extra mentor, just let me know. The girl's hunt would have most of us "real" hunters jealous until the cows come home!! ;D

One thing that Doc didn't mention is that the bobcat his daughter took was 41 lbs.! I am not sure I can even dream of getting one that large!!

That is a great thing that you have done. I help with hunters ed also. I'am taking a 14yr old boy out this year with his Dad to kill his first deer I can't wate maybe more than him. Great story

I was sharing your info. that you posted on the girls hunt with some of the guys that I work with. They were amazed that they had such a prosperous hunt.

well, the feeders help a lot and the blinds are set so they are easy to shoot out of. and the pictures are on there way as soon as I get this card installed so i can take them off theDig.camera. And think you for all the kind words. 4 of the girls I taught how to shoot as 2 of them have been hunting since they where 5 years old.

That Sounds Great I will bet that the faces could be seen from miles because of the SMILES and Bright eyes.

I know every time I take one or all of my girls out hunting we have a blast.

It is not just the game getting but the fun and being together with them that makes for a great time.

I have even learned from them too.
