Hey Hayseed, Welcome back to the good ol' USA!! I guess New Orleans counts, doesn't it? It is good to see you on the board again! Like Sarge, I can't help with your question, but wanted to say "Hey"! Thanks for your service, Marine! Bob

Lots of great fishing down that way, but don't know about the hunting. There are some people here from la. maybe they can help out. Glad you and others are there to keep our great country going ( formerly 101st Airborne here). Thanks for your service.

:DhEY hAYSEED... LASSIRE BON TON ROULE (or something like that!) Welcome back, and you're in one of the best bass fishing places around! Since they held the Bass Masters finals there, the Delta has become a real hotspot for the big time pros! I'll do some checkin for you about the fishing, there's bound to be some Cajuns on this board that can tell you where to hunt, too!

Welcome back Hayseed. My brother lives in Slidell, and he hunts on a continuous basis. He hunts the state wildlife management areas, mostly for hogs during the off-season, and for deer during the short deer season. I would recommend contacting the state of Louisiana for the location of their WMA's, and I will ask him the specifics in the meantime. From what I understand, hog hunting during the off-season for hogs is rimfire only.

Huh? Now that makes a lot of sense. Bob

My thoughts exactly. My brother said it's because of the deer poaching problem that is so prevelant in southern Louisiana. I also find that reasoning a bit strange, but remember, it's Louisiana!

Hayseed,
Here is a number for a friend of mine in New Orleans. He is a Guard pilot and works for the Border Patrol. (954) 985-2614 ask for Waco. He is at Lakefront Airport and has an office at Millionaire Aviation. Tell him Jim from El Paso gave you his number, and when you see him, slap him with a wet squirrel, he like that.
Jim
p.s. Don't drink beer with this Mississippi poacher, he is a bad influence.
