Fur flies over flier: PETA targets ‘Nutcracker’ kids

Animal rights advocates will single out small children at performances of ``The Nutcracker'' in the next few weeks by handing out fliers saying ``Your Mommy Kills Animals'' to youngsters whose mothers are wearing fur.
``Children can't look up to a mom in a battered-raccoon hat or a crushed coyote collar,'' said Ingrid Newkirk, president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. ``Maybe when they're confronted by their own children's hurt looks, fur-wearers' cold hearts will melt.''
The fliers include a color drawing of a woman plunging a large bloody knife into the belly of a terrified rabbit. The fliers urge kids to ``ask your mommy how many dead animals she killed to make her fur clothes.
``And the sooner she stops wearing fur, the sooner the animals will be safe. Until then, keep your doggie or kitty friends away from mommy - she's an animal killer.''
Brookline child psychologist Dr. Carolyn Newberger called the tactics ``terribly dangerous to children.''

Just jwonder what PETA mommies will do when they have those 4 legged predators on their door step.. How "safe"are they gonna feel then!

These people are so ignorant of reality they probably wouldn't care if a big cat or bear jumped one of their kids, would probably say well they shouldn't have been walking down the street.

Man I just saw one of these fliers or booklets and cant remember where.......its made up like a comic book.....with the whole June Cleaver knife wielding mom and all.............
If I find it again I will try and photo it and post so you guys can get an idea at how stupid it is visually......
I wanna say it was in a car wreck we handled recently with College kids from an Ivy league school here who decided that it was fun to go and operate a vehicle ETOH positive for both Alcohol, pills and some other substances.........
Sorry I havent been around lately.........or posting much...this job kind of turns into a blur.........especially with the 24hr Oilfield hand mentality........they keep offerin me to pull double shifts and I keep takin them.....lol turned around the other day and I had been on the street for almost 40hrs.........

PETA activists - including cuddly, costumed raccoons and foxes - are making guest appearances outside performances of The Nutcracker across the country this holiday season with a cheeky message of compassion. As children arrive to see the "Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy," some will be unaware that their mothers are already starring in a real-life horror story! PETA will be there to greet any fur- clad moms and their children with their newest anti-fur leaflet-PETA Comics presents..."Your Mommy Kills Animals!" Kids will see the bloody truth behind their moms’ pretentious pelts. Accompanied by graphic photographs of skinned carcasses and animals languishing on fur farms, children will read: "Lots of wonderful foxes, raccoons, and other animals are kept by mean farmers who squish them into cages so small that they can hardly move. They never get to play or swim or have fun. All they can do is cry-just so your greedy mommy can have that fur coat to show off in when she walks the streets." There is something terribly wrong with those folks or any parent that would allow their child to accept such stuff. But in most of these cases they don't have the guts to do it while parents are around.
