I am new to Crow Hunting and wondered if there are any " secrets " that I should know about. First- What do you hunt with? I have a .222 and .225 as well as a 12 ga and 16 ga. I have been a Whitetail Hunter for 25 years but want to hunt more - so when I thot of all the crows around here I decided to give it a try.
Thanks for any help!!

Grab your 12 guage, get a crow call or better yet an electronic caller......the Johnny Stewart cassette is inexpensive and you can use it for predators as well. For just a little more money you can get a digital unit. Camo up from head to tail and start calling. The Crow Frenzy/Crow Riot and the Crow & Owl Fight sounds work great. Call 'em in and pop 'em......
Good Hunting,
Bob

:)Hey cliff... well you're taking on one of the smartest critters in the wild! Crows are very curious but at the same time are very suspicious. Get yourself situated so that you can see 360 degrees and then some! You need to learn their language well, cause one foul (or is that fowl) up and they are outta there!
You can usually start with their locator which is a series of four rapid - caw... caw...caw...caw. If they are around they will answer back. Do one more set of 4 caws, wait for their answer, and then you sound as "pitiful" as you can to mimic a wounded crow! That usually gets them started. Whatever you do, don't do three caws.... that is their DANGER call.
Be ready the entire process, for they sometimes will send out a "scout" to find you. If he sees a human, you're done! Otherwise you can probably get them in for a shot.
I'd recommend 12 or 16 with at least #6 shot. If you get them coming they are a ton of fun to outwit and shoot!

;)One more thing you can try... put out bright pieces of metal, plastic, or aluminum foil on the ground... they really like bright shiney objects!
