I went over to a neighbor's house today to look at some tracks made in a damp, sandy creek bed behind his house. The front paw was 5" long from the tip of the longest toe to the back of the heel pad and the stride was 32" measured from the back of the front heel pad to the toe of the back foot. Its not a cat track because the shape wasn't rounded enough and the claw marks were clearly visible in the sand. Anybody have any idea how big a track either a wolf or a wolf/dog hybred makes? Whatever it is, I'm gonna go over tonight if the wind will lay a little and see if it'll come to a call.

Might be one of those transplanted Mexican Wolves, that NM Game & Fish reintroduced a few years back. I understand that they are expanding their range. I sure hope they stay the hell out of Texas.
