Gentlemen; I read all your posts on the different firearms and thought it was a great . I have a Swift and was wondering what you guys use for a bullet. This would be for coyotes during the months that they are prime, I have shot several with .40 gr. nosler bt's , they were bith frontal shots and there was no exit

swami297, First, welcome to the Posse! Jump on in...... I have used the 40gr. and 50gr. BT's very successfully in my 22-250. Most of the time there is no exit wound. Now the disclaimer.......you do have to make "perfect" shots with them however. They are prone to blow-up on the shoulders. You can end up with a 4"-5" entrance hole at closer ranges. Day in and day out, I like the Sierra #1365 55gr. BTSP. The 52gr. HP's have a pretty good track record also. Mostly, I use the 50gr. BT's or the 55gr. Sierra soft-points. Clear as mud? I am sure the rest of the guys will jump here..... Bob

Like Bobcat said stay away from the bones and you should be fine , if you are pelt hunting you might want to try out a solid bullet or maybe a full metal jacketed one ? I know sierra makes a full metal jacket , not sure the weight? and barnes makes a solid in 45 gr and 50 gr, When using a solid on any animal you really got to put it through the vitals , gut shots usally end in a long chase .
