Loaded up and ready for the ceremonial ride back to camp! These two were members of a group we call the "Deep Canyon Pack". These are the first we've been able to call at this location, even after numerous attemps over the last four years. Never even called young ones here. Always had low moaning howls at us as we walked out after dark. Sometimes literally surrounded by eight or more coyotes. Obviously we were busted by them. We can fool em now. Patsy shot the one on the left 4 minutes after I started calling. I shot the other one 58 minutes later after I had turned the caller off. We had em fooled bad.

Yes it is.
Especially this group in this area of our place. It's part of a canyon sysytem that runs through the middle of our place and empties into the river. There's a creek that meanders through the bottom of the canyon. Very thick, lots of cover, steep canyon walls. Hard to get in unseen. They lay up on high vantage points and watch entrance and exit areas. They've been sung to quite a few times so they've heard a lot of dying rabbits. There's two other groups of coyotes that live further up the canyon towards the front of the place. they are difficult also.

Way to go Slammy. You better hang on to that girl. My wife hunts with me often, and I sure like her company.
I've got a couple of places like your canyon . It seems they some times have a scout on lookout, he spots me, runs to tell the rest, and they start laughing (howling) at me. It's gratifying to finaly get one of those that have busted you in the past.
Good Hunting
