I have never used a Climbing stand before but I have used a 16'tripod to call out of and it worked fine. you have a better view of th area and most predators willnot look up at you. I set the speaker of my Fropro out and started to call, and the yotes came running.
Hope this helps.

Hey Texasdoc, Tell me more about this Tripod. You buy it or make it?

I have done both but now I use the Strongbuilt 16 footers that I get at Wal-mart for 159.98. But when i build one I make them 2 seater types with a Shooting rail and a Roof on them. I will have to see if I can find the plans for a 14 foot Tripod that I built 5 years ago.

I'm looking for a portable one that I can take from the back of the truck and set up quickly from stand to stand for night hunting.
