I know this is short notice, but my parter got scheduled for this weekend at the last minute.
Here's the deal....The Navy owns 7000 acres 100 miles north of Corpus Christi and it is open to active and retired miltiary for hunting, fishing, camping, etc... I can bring a guest and would like to hunt with someone off this site.
We'll have free range of the place. The lodge sleeps 70 and each bunk room has 2 bunk beds a fridge and costs $10 a night. We have to bring our own food and there is a cook house with 4 huge BBQ pits, a small gas grill and other stuff. They also have a walk in game cooler.
Anyway, they've been seeing several bobcats and lots of coyotes and I wanna get in the middle of them. There is a few deer hunters out there, but I talked to some of them last weekend when I scouted out the place and they won't mind.
Give me a call if you want to go and we'll talk details...

I'll go either way, and take pictures for sure.
Whats great about this place is hardly anyone knows about it and those who do don't want to drive the distance.
Let me know when you're gonna be in the area again Byron and we'll see what we can plan.

That sounds like a great opportunity. I'm booked for the next seven weekends though. Sounds like you might get into some cats. I know someone has to take you up on this. Good hunting. Please post the details afterwards.

Hey Dave,
I can't go, but boy do I wish I could. I assume you are talking about the Escandido Ranch owned by the Naval Air Station Kingsville just outside Freer? I have done moonlight hog hunts down there and am going back this spring. If any of you can go, this is one of the best hunting deals out there. I do believe it is $25-$45/night if you are non-active/retired military. BUT-That is the only cost except for your food!!
Dave-Thanks for your generous offer!!
Good Hunting,
Bob

Thats right Bobcat, I just wish I would have found out about this place earlier. I took my family out there this past saturday to scout it out and I was suprised how nice it is.
Are you retired military Bob?
