Got finished early today, Hannah (8) didn't have home work, so we decided to go hunting. We only had about 45 minutes of daylight left so we couldn't go far. We picked a spot down the road about a half mile from home. I set my Fox Pro call out in front of us in some taller grass in a little clearing maybe 80 yards deep and 60 yards wide. Called for a few minutes and I heard something moving around in the brush off to our left. Then it would quit. Then we would hear it again. After a few minutes he couldn't stand it any longer. I just knew it was a bobcat the way it was taking its time. It wasn't, it was a fox. Finally he showed himself. It was almost to dark to see him. I said almost. I put a round right through his chest as I squeaked him to a stop. Hannah and I had a great time. We have had some fun hunts together that I will always remember. If you've never taken a kid hunting you don't know what your missing . Here the pictures. Happy Holidays and Good Hunting Byron

Good story Byron,
I think I caught a fleeting glimpse of a fox here at home (15 mi. sw of Sherman) last year, but I couldn't be sure. Never called anything but coyotes and bobcats here. Do you have many in your area? Your little girl has grown since you filmed "Coming to the Call". I know she has fun hunting with Dad.

Thank's Slammy,
We see quit a few grays around old cut overs and the thick stuff. Not many reds at all. May have seen three in the last 5 years. I live North of Tyler about thirty miles.
She sure has Slammy, and I couldn't be prouder. I've got some footage of her hunting with me when she was six that I may use on my next video. It was filmed on an old High 8 camera and the quality is not very good. On that piece of footage I shoot a double called in with a mini-blaster. The first one was at about 10 yards and the second was about 30. she just loved it. I got lucky with that footage. I was calling, filming, and shooting with a 6 year old girl. She hung right in there, and still goes every chance she gets.
Good Hunting
