jdickey, we were between Eunice NM and Andrews. Ive been thinking about making a campaign down towards Imperial and on to Ft Stockton.
We were making 10 minute quicky stands. Larry tooted on the AP-7 most of the night. The only neat story was we had a youngster come in and stop, I pulled the trusty trigger and it clicked. Yanked out the shell and it had taking a punch but no bang. The yote stood there puzzled long enough for me to recoop and take him. Had to shoot him three times. Jumped off the truck picked him up still alive and threw him in the bed as Larry was saying here comes another one. I leveled down on him a killed him over the blood pile of the first.
He has some good country!!!!
All in all we called in 13 critters, 11 being yotes, and two being cats in 6.5 actual hunting hours.
Shot at 3 yotes 1 cat
One being hit and the other iffy.
One cat iffy.
And piled up 5
If we had more time I wouldve put more effort in. But I did try for 5 min each time. Oh well cant win em all.
