First year coyote hunting and I'd like to know what is the furthest shot you would try to make on a coyote??
Had one at about 400 yards and decided against it!

I have had them hang up around 500 yrds and have taken the shot, It's a 50/50 chance if you can put it right on them, but if you can't you just now been called the educator.

Hey cdngunner, Man, that would be a great shot with a .223! Of course, it can and has been done, but 400 yards, with a .223, while sitting on your rear in a bush (or whatever) will usually educate more coyotes than it will kill. But they sure are hard to turn down, aren't they!?  ;D Bob (gunsetc) |
