I have had coyotes respond to plain old puppy or kitten distress when I could not get them to respond to any other call. give it a try. also have you tryed a turkey call I have been out with a hunting buddy that swears by them for calling in those dogs that just are plain pains in the back side. and i can say that it has work. skinner

Hey Dale, I would hang in there with the pup whines.....they are pretty potent this time of year. Sorry I dont have a magic bullet..... You can start your stand with a lonesome or challenge howl. Don't over call.......do some pup whines and wait 2 minutes.....then do some more....and wait.....this may work for you. Good Hunting, Bob

Late season calling is what makes us better coyote hunters... They have heard it all by now,,,,,,,or have they.
Try this: after you walk in to your spot, let it cool off (wait 10 min) when you start, use a lonehowl or an invitation howl, maybe two then wait 4-5 min.
if nothing then give them another lonehowl and then, just one threat bark and go into a pup-distress for about 10secconds,,, here is the key,,, right after you finish the pup-distress hit them with about 15 secconds of that jack distress as wild and eratic as you can do it. then get quiet and wait about 10 min before hitting them with the rabbit a threat bark and the pup distress again.
this has realy been a good combo for me late season

Thanks for the replies. I will give them all a try. Bobcat i don't have the pup whines on my foxpro but i have the pup distress. What are you using to make the pup whines? I have used a diaphram call and different open reeds calls. SLYDOG i will copy your sequence a give it a try in the morn. It sounds good. I believe it will work. I called one in this evening with two lonesome howls and a little bunny blues and he came running.Work just like text book. It still works once an a while. But we had snow here today and probably was wanting an easy meal. THANKS DALE
