i was just curious................. when do most of you quit calling.................or better yet, when do you stop killing coyotes.. i told a rancher that i was finished for this season as i was intent on giving em a rest so they could get on with their mating...he said not to let em mate as they was enuff of em as is..... okcoyote

I sure wouldn't say that to many ranchers. They generally don't care much about the time of year or young in the den. They want them gone! This is a great time of year to call. I sure don't worry about their sex lives......... I think you might lay off during denning season if you are not doing predator control for someone....more targets for next fall. This is very much a personal choice. A word of warning......This subject tends to get emotional quickly and I will not let a p*ssing match get started over this here. Bob

Hey okcoyote,
All you did was ask a legitimate question. I just wanted to head off any unreasonable responses. I am sure some more members will chime in.......
Good Hunting,

Good call, Bob...... wouldn't mind seeing different points of view so long as it was positive...... As most of you know, here in Texas there is no end to coyote season as in many of the other (puny) states. . IMNSHO, so long as it is not against the law, then go for it......

I like your answer there Kurt, but I usually shut down around April. I'll keep hunting if a ranch has problems. Should have been with Tommy and I Friday night,,,,,lots of snow !!!! I called in 2 cats on the last stand for TJ. Haven't found the one he shot at yet.

Hey Bob,

Whether or not to call and kill coyotes during spring and summer is a personal choice. I still get out during spring and early summer to whack a coyote or two if the weather is nice. The older I get, the nicer I prefer the weather to be when I go hunting. I prefer short walks from the truck to my stand, and I absolutely hate walking up hills anymore. Am I getting old, fat and soft? YEP!
