;D I finally figured out how to connect with the dogs I have been hearing on Government land for two months now! I went and called at the other end of the fields I have been hearing them and seen lots of scat and tracks, Got done calling and was sitting there before I left and heard what sounded like a coyote howl, It was! He started letting out challange calls for 3 or 4 minutes, I got up and headed his direction about 600 to 700 yards, Set up where I could only see about 75 yards at the farthest point, But it's the only place I could set up with out it being too thick, I started a challange call tape and got out about 5 or 6 howls and the tape ended! I flipped the tape over and got it started again and maybe got two howls out and a DOUBLE came running staight at me about 60 yards out, They were about 30 yards before I could get a clear shot, One down and I have somehow got another shell jacked in the gun and the cross hairs on the other one but he was in the brush high tailin to the next county! What a heart pounder, I thought they were going to run smooth over me before I could shoot! I'm ready to try the challange a few other places I hunt, This was the first night I set out to really use the challange call. I have got to start using another bullet, These hollow points are just nasty on what ever you shoot! img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-2/627714/coyote1f.jpg[/img]

hey bd250.....
congrats. on the yote.. i very well remember my first one. i had an old remington .25/20. i was shaking so bad i could not even get a shot off. it is still as exciting today as it was then. as a matter of fact i just got back from calling this evening. we got about 4 inches of snow and there was still plenty left this afternoon and we do like callin in the snow. i was setting ground level in some good native grass and could just see the ears moving through. man , i was excited. you could see em than u could'nt. it was a rush....... just keep on keepin on.......lotsa luck..h yeah...i did get the yote. and what kinda hollow points u using.?

OKCOYOTE, I'm using the Winchester white box ammo, I'm trying to work up a load with better bullets but have not found one that shoots a well as these thing do, I'm ready for sure to shoot something other than these, I could only show the one side of the coyote, the other side was really bad! Just kinda blew it up!
