I ususlly don't do much howling, but after reading some of the posts on this site, I think I will try it more often. I was wonder though, has anyone ever tag teamed while howling for coyotes? What I mean is, has anyone ever tried two (or more) people howling the same area, but say, 400 yards apart? Also maybe one could howl while the other uses puppy wines. This seems to work really well while elk calling (for me anyhow). It kinda makes it sound like two animals talking to each other, then the animals in the area are less suspicious, and chime in their thoughts. Also, I would think that you could sit on a stand longer, 'cause everyone has something to do. It seems that the guy not doing the calling gets really bored, and wants to move to the next spot too early.
I was just wondering if anyone has done this, and how it works for yoters.
Happy hunt'n

It works Two springs ago a friend and I were trying to call and nothing would show up. I had my Dan Thompson howler and he had a Tally-Ho on this particular stand. We figured we'd just howl away and get some practice in.
The Mule deer does were really adgitated and seemed to come from everywhere looking to run off the coyotes they couldn't see. I practiced every type of howl I could think of, and as loud as I could, the Tally-Ho howling away the whole time 10 yds away from me.
We were so caught up playing around and watching the deer I almost didn't see the coyote come running out of the hills 1/2 mile at full speed. It finally stopped to look at 50 yds away, I missed. My partner caught up to it with his AR. A female. three out of four coyotes I've howled in have been females.
Point being, I think it works quite well, and I don't think you need to know what you're doing. Any multi howl scenario could touch the curiosity of any coyote in the area. It's definately worth trying.

I agree with Brad about the use of two howlers and making multiple sounds but stay away from the agitated sounds or agressive barks untill the coyote goes there, then mock him and see what happens next,,,,LOL
