Had a chance to do some calling yesterday on a friend's ranch. This picture is from the morning hunt. 5 coyotes and 2 nice bobcats. We ended up yesterday with 9 coyotes and 3 bobcats but got too dark to get more pictures. We woke up this morning with the wind blowing about 50 miles an hour so our planned 2 day hunt turned into a one day hunt which was a dissapointment, but got to hunt with my son and a couple of good friends.

Wish we could kill bobcats in Illinois, I had 3 last year that about scared the b'jeses out of me while I was bow hunting deer. One jumped up on a tree about 10yrs from me and after he jumped off 2 more jumped up in trees, one on each side of me about 25yrd. Could only look at them the first ones I had ever seen.

Hey willketchum,
Nice job, again. That ole cat in the middle looks pretty big. Did you get a chance to weigh it? What sex were the cats?
Keep up the good work.

Slammy, didn't have a chance to weigh the cat but it was the biggest one we've killed this year. I'm guessing around 30#. Called another one that evening about the same size. All three cats were toms. It was one of those places that looks so good but seldom produces. A high bluff overlooking a big flat, one of those places you could see something coming for a mile. 5 minutes into the stand I saw him coming and had the scope on him for about 5-6 minutes. I'm shooting a .223 WSSM (still shooting factory loads) that's really hard on fur so I let my partner shoot him with his .223. I've got to get some brass saved up so I can load my rifle down a little.
