I'm new on here, so this may have came up before, but what does everyone recomend for an economical coyote call. I have a lease in So. Ill. and it has several coyotes and I have never really hunted them before, so I'm looking for a good enjoyable way to get myself and maybe even my 10 yr. old in on a coyote hunt.

There is a guy right in your neck of the woods that has a good predator three pack and it's a good value. It's LeMarr game calls
jclemarr@frontiernet.net or by phone (217)439-7261
Jason is a good guy and he builds a heck of a call for the money.
Rich Cronk also makes a real good call. He makes all kinds of predator calls. He builds a super howler and His Bear call is the best in the buisness.
Kevin Lukins builds a darn good call out of aluminum that has a sound of its own.
and don't forget the RHINO, Jay builds a call called the brass Rhino that is to die for.
There are many good call makers on this board and I have most of their calls. Every one that I have will call critters. There is only a hand full of the call makers that I have never used one of their calls but I haven't heard a single bad thing about them. Its up to you, hope this helps

...Economical coyote call. I would recommend going to www.allpredatorcalls, and picking up two production calls. One a CritR Call (might also be labeled Critr Getr by Carlton's)... looks like this The other Johnny Stewart PC-3 With the two calls and shiping you'll be into it a chunk less than a single custom call, and those two calls are classics with a great reputation. You'll want two calls so if one stops working for any reason, you'll have a back-up. Krusty

I get asked a lot about what call to start out with. I usually recommend the Sceery AP-3 closed reed jackrabbit call. First, it is very easy to blow well without a lot of practice. It will call coyotes, fox, and cats anywhere.......whether you have jackrabbits or not. The mouthpiece is designed like a pipes so it is easy to hold in your mouth. The body of the call is made of camo'd rubber so it doesn't "clang" around and make a lot of noise banging into things as you walk to your stand. The reed is also very easy to change when the time comes. It is one of three I always have with me in the field......... The Crit'R Call Pee Wee is another one of the three. I would start out with a closed reed though. They are easier to use. Good Hunting, Bob Here is a link to AllPredatorCalls: www.allpredatorcalls.com/

Camo, All the calls mentioned above are good calls, but I like the Primos Coyote and Bear Buster. That call has worked better for me than all the calls above. It has a brass reed and a big barrel that makes an excellent sound. It is easy to blow and is a two piece call that is easy to pull apart to tune or change the reed. I have called in 8 lions and lost count of the coyotes, bobcats, and bears that the call has brought in. It is an easy call for a beginner and sells for $9.95 at the website Bobcat mentioned above. I also recommend the mini blaster by Burnam Brothers. Its easy to use and works great on coyotes, foxes and bobcats.
