Alrighty guys, I am needing some advice on tactics this time of year. I am hopefully going to do some calling this weekend and I have heard this can be a tough time of year. I will be in South Texas, if that helps. It’ll be early morning or night time when I can go. I have a Haydel’s baby jackrabbit handcall that I have been successful w/ at times, and I have a new Johnny Stewart Preymaster that has been pretty much blanked thus far (I am not a big fan of it so far). I just have the original sound cards for the Preymaster. More than likely I will by flying solo on this trip, but I have a scope-spotlight for night time if that would be best. I am some ideas of my own, but what are your........
Thoughts on sounds? Which caller?
Thoughts on methods? Call length?
Many Thanks!

Hey Woodrow, sounds like you pretty well got it down. Either of the calls you mentioned work great. This time of year lots of guy's use more howls and coyote vocalizations. Most of these guys are hunting places that have been hammered already by now. If you are hunting fresh places, you can stick with the old standby rabbit in distress. It will work just fine as long as they haven't been hammerd with it in the past few months. Predator calling is like bass fishing sometimes. If they don't like a top water bait throw them a spiner bait. Good Hunting Byron

Thanks Byron. This place gets hit, but not w/ calls. Snares, helicopters (been awhile on that though), and a ranch manager who is an awesome shot. There are still coyotes around though, so I hope to find em. I want to try the Preymaster some more, but if it wiffs I am going back to the hand call.......
Also, I showed a few buddies your video and they loved it!
