OK Mark, I got inspired after you expressed an interest in my calls, and I found that last triangle blank I had... no bologna cut, but I think this one is all you! It still needs final sanding, and clear (pictured in sanding sealer only, and with one of the good brand of batteries lol... for scale) and we need to decide how you'd like it voiced... it should be ready to ship by Monday, and you should be using it next weekend, if you want it that is... Lemme know if you want it, and send me your shipping address if you do. Krusty

Rick, Thanks. It's mesquite, from Southwest Arizona. It is quartersawn, from a branch, and the top of the call is the top or the sunny side out, of the branch... it grows whiter to reflect the sun's heat... ...the point of the triangle is the center of the branch. I made these two calls out of that same branch... the smaller one is Bofire's, and the larger one belongs to the same guy who has the bologna cut one. Johnny, who was in Bear Camp with us, has one more of them, open reed and similar to Bo's. I also made a closed reed call, for Bo, out of one piece. The last quarter I cut in half, and made a short closed reed call for one of the guys down in Australia in trade for all them fox whistles... GH's call is the last piece of it... I have the doubled reedset done, and I hate myself ... this one is REALLY gonna be hard to put in the mailbox! But I am always glad to send them someplace where they have lots of coyotes! Someday I am gonna have to make me a nice call. Krusty P.S. Here's a tip for making open reed calls; Leave the inside of the tube the small diameter you first drill through, hollowing out only enough that if you make a mistake on the open reed part, you can cut off the bridge, fashion a mouthpiece, and still make a closed reed call from what is left. If you pull it off, then you can always hollow out the body a bit deeper later. Use anohter call that has a good soundboard, and copy it's bridge... you can do it, I have faith in ya!
