I purchased a predation in early november, at first I didn't like the thing at all. I didn't really care for the sounds that came with it and due to PC problems and limitations I couldn't get the sounds I wanted or couldn't build my own. I thought about selling the unit at a loss and go back to rolling wire. after getting my PC straightened out and starting over I have finaly got the unit working at an acceptable level.
The call works fine and although the speaker will crack at high volume, but it is way beyond to loud when this happens. the remote works fine and seems to be a reliable outfit, time will tell how the battery holds up. It is in the truck now at about 12 degrees and I'll see how it performs cold in the morning.
For the money spent it is a good deal, but the accesories to build and store your own sounds are in MHO overpriced, anybody buying one should get them at radio shack for much less money. I purchased a card reader which I don't think I would have even needed, but WR doesn't tell you this. the cables are about 1/2 price at RS. If I had to rely solely on WR's for sounds then I wouldn't own one, with the exception of the cottontail distress, none of they're sounds I heard are acceptable.
Here is what I don't like about the unit
when playing sounds on remote, unless you can remember the order of your sounds, its very easy to make a mistake in playing the sound you want. If the remote doesn't pick up one signal then you don't know where your at, there is no LCD display on the remote, you have to retrieve the unit to regain your bearings of where your at. I have about 18 sounds on mine and more on a soundcard, I plan on switching them back and forth as needs require, no use to go out with 100 sounds on a unit cause you would never keep them straightened out. I just use the soundcard for storage.
All in all not a bad unit for 269.00, hope you enjoy my views on the caller
