Has anyone taken any of the cassette callers apart and cleaned them out? Is it hard or is it even neccessary? Was just thinking with all the dirt and dust we have here in West Texas that its real easy for them to get pretty nasty.

I've never done it on a caller, but we clean electronics daily at our shop. Just use a high quality contact cleaner and canned air

All I have ever needed to do to my JS-512 is clean the heads. I tote it around in a Gator bag with a few tapes and the remote. Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin' Bob

Same here. I still have my old 300-pound Burnham Bros. cassette caller, and all that I've ever done was to clean the heads, and replace the huge battery about every five years. My current Preymaster is maintenance-free, other than changing the batteries.
