I'm new to calling and yotes is my main focus (Although a bobcat would'nt be bad). Have a great place to call down in the valley (yotes ain't shy) but have decided I need to spice things up with an e-caller. Have looked at a bunch and it looks like the Johnny Stewart Predator Master may be the best deal for me (limited budget). Considered something recordable so when I improved I could put together my own loops, but am kinda taken with the digital and a long cord without 60 timer, also figured since I'm new to calling it would be best for awhile to use "canned" sounds instead of my own inept sqawks and squeaks..... You guys are obviously are very experienced in this regard, opinions???
THANKS in advance!!

Hey shiner, The first thing I would do, if you haven't already, is read every single thread in this forum.....both pages. That will get you started. The next thing is that you are not going to get the same thing for $200 that you do for $500. Now, the good news! Foxpro, J. Stewart, and Burnham Bros. are all bringing out new remote e-callers in the next few months that will be in the $300 price range. Loudmouth was supposed to be bringing out a new unit too, but they have gotten pretty quiet lately. I don't know what is going on there. Since we are heading into denning season pretty soon, I would wait and take a peek at the new units coming online. Until then, you should call with hand calls and learn how to do that well first. It is not hard, but you do have to get out there and do it. If you can hook up with someone to mentor you, that will flatten the learning curve more quickly. Go to Varmint Al's site and listen to his soundss there and practice along with them: www.varmintal.com/ahunt.htmAfter you are caught up......fire some of your questions at us. As to the JS Prey Master, it is a good unit. Bob

Sound advice I'd say, picked up a hand call, inexpensive at Academy, don't rememeber the name but has a button to allow adjusting sounds. My wounded rabbit needs some polishing, but getting there. Drives the family crazy as I listen to sounds I find on the internet then try to emulate (Everyone thinks there is a baby in the house crying, hehe)..
THANKS
