Was wondering if anyone else shoots a 6.5/284 on the board?
I have a PacNor barreled Ruger 77 - 1 in 10" twist - to shoot bullets in the 100-130 grain range.
Was wondering if anyone else had any "pet loads" they would share.
TIA - BCB

Sarge: I have looked at a lot of the info. on the internet. Most of it is for long range shooters shooting the longer 264 bullets - 140 grain and heavier. My particular rifle which has a PacNor barrel has a one in ten twist to shoot the 100-130 grain bullets as a light hunting rifle for medium to small game. 24" length. So far, I have had good results with WW 760 and IMR 4350 but was wondering if anyone else was using the 6.5/284 as a hunting round. Should have been more specific in my original post. Thanks for responding - BCB

try the alliant website they show some god loads in those bullet weights, while 4350 should good you might look at alliant re19,re22 might work as well or better in a case that size, you might also consider the hornady 129gr sp(not the new sst,the bullet is to long to stabelize with 1n10)have had very good results with it in my swede,I keep waiting on grooviedon to announce hes going to make a 6.5(ill be first in line)

Sarge:
Thanks, again for the information.
I have shot the Hornady 129 and the 129 SST also and both shot pretty well in my rifle.
I may check some of the Alliant powers for other options. Take care - BCB
