Texppr: I bought mine at Fountain Firearms in SW Houston - Paid 5 bills for it. They are definitely worth looking at for a new rifle. The CZ 527 is basically a mini-mauser action with a detachable magazine - made in Czechoslovakia. CZ has a web site - www.cz-usa.com Take care - BCB

absolutely beautiful wood, the only thing I have heard bad about them was on the ARboard, dont remember exactly but was something to do with the sear/safety,wouldnt work right (1 out of 1000)when you kicked the safety off gun would fire!which my 98s will do if you hold the trigger back while relesing the safety

With all that money tied up, I'd be afraid to take them out of the case! ;D ;D

I recently have been bitten by the 7mm bug. I just got a 7mm-08 and now I think I need a 7X57 to keep it company. The CZ550 American is one that I am seriously considering. Does anyone have any experience/information on this model? I think I would rather have the CZ over a Ruger 77. What do you guys think?
