I picked up my Remington 788 today at the gun shop. I had that 9 lb trigger adjusted down to almost 3 lbs. Now I have to get it sighted back in and then its off to test it out on some coyotes. This rifle was deadly before and now that it has a descent trigger it should be just awesome. I am heading out in the morning to get it sighted in and may have to try busting a yote tomorrow evening. ;D ;D ;D Ain't life just wonderful!! Oh I almost forgot that while he was working on the trigger he noticed the safety was almost broke into - fixed it at no extra charge. ;D ;D

they are fine, accurate (but kind of homely) rifles! I have two of them and really enjoy shooting them........
Woud be interested in knowing more about your trigger jobs - I don't think the pull on either of mine is 9 #.

I am not real positive it was at 9lbs but it wasn't too far from it. It had the heaviest trigger I have ever come across. There is a gunsmith here in Abilene that did the trigger job and he charges $25.00 per rifle to do them. If you need his number let me know and I will get it for ya. He does real good work and has always treated me right.

At nine pounds you must have had to hit it with a hammer ;D

I've got stock triggers on both mine. Think the pull is around 5 pounds or so, with some extra creep that is distracting at the range, but unnoticable when I'm hunting with it......
