Walmart has the Vanguard for $388 right now. I'd probably spend the extra $11 and buy at Carter Country, as Walmart won't provide a refund for weapons now.

Just FYI-You can usually get a better deal online. Currently you can get a Howa 1500 for $383 shipped and including the FFL fee. This saves you about $35 over the gun shop route after you include sales tax. That is enough to get your bases and rings for your scope.......
The same is true for the Remington 700 and Savage Model 11's.
You might also luck in to a good used one or an old Rem 788............
