I know this is not the ideal cal for coyotes, but I getting a marlin 30-30 leveraction for my birthday (next week), I overheard my sisters, and I see there is a 55 gr. bullet for it. I plan on topping it off with a nikon prostaff 3-9x40. I dont plan on shooting past 150yds. I dont have a big budget and I realy want a .243 but Its gonna have to wait awhile. Also anyone hunt with .17hmr.?? theres a good looking marlin at wal-mart saying "buy me " ever time I see it

Sounds like you don't have a rifle yet at all? a 30-30 will work nicely for deer. I see the ballistics on that 55 gr. sabot. looks like you might be Ok out to 250-300 yards for coyote if you sight it in at 200 yards. By the way I am down the road from you in San benito. Steve

Remington still makes the Accelerator saboted ammo. I thought they had stopped producing it. Personally, I would use your regular ammo, call them in to 100-150 yards, and shoot them. I assume since you mentioned a .243 you are not concerned about pelt damage. When you have enough saved, get your .243 bolt action. There may be some other saboted ammo I am not aware of also......you might check EA Brown. Ramhunter here is a load that I used on Yotes before and it worked great.
Hornady 110gr.RoundNose over 33.1grs of H322 case was a Win. and the primer WLR Vel.is out of my Marlin 336c was 2322FPS.
Hope this helps.
