well i found out something today. i went deer hunting this morning i didnt see a deer but about 11:00 i see this big bobcat sneaking along so i get ready and when he offered a shot i took it . i shoot a .280 remington and have shot several coyotes and deer with a 140 gr. ballistic tip all with great luck. well a few weeks ago i loaded up some 160 gr trophy bonded bear claws to try on deer. well they dont work well at all on bobcats especially if you want the hide this bullet blew a hole out the backside of the ribs almost as big as the whole ribcage. i was thinking that they might not expand on something as light as a bobcat but boy was i wrong. anyone else shoot these and how do they act on your critters. sounds like they performed as advertised, that heavy a bullet is designed for much slower expansion than what your used to,I use a 225 gr trophy bonded in a 35gibb and made the mistake of shooting a coyote(frontal shot) once pretty much disembowled it(everything inback of the ribs was just a bloody mess)

Hey hunter9850,
Your taxidermist can save that hide. Maybe you didn't save the cat, but for next time. Last year I shot a bobcat at 15 feet with my .308. He was down so I turned my attention to the caller to modulate the volume when I see something out of the corner of my eye. It was my cat running down the dry creek bed with something bouncing along side him. I had my wife shoot him with her .223. He ran about 20 to 25 yds. The thing that was bouncing along the ground was his heart. Still attached by some arteries. Anyway my taxidermist repaired that hole. It was a fist size( 4") blowed out of his rib cage.
