Byron,
What I like is that you just kinda mention that your buddy shoots out of his ultra light airplane. That's so funny. I'd love to see something like that. I'd be LMAO!
It'd be even better if you strapped a camera to the plane for 2nd camera angles. That's funny, Byron. Does he live in west Texas or east Texas?
Hope he's a good pilot so he can shoot and fly at the same time.

Byron does he have one of those neat open cockpit planes. With the fabric wing. I have a bud that has a two seater version, but it gets a bit scary in our winds. That full cell inbetween my legs upfront might be a bit scary with a firearm inhand.

Come on BW,
Where's your sense of adventure? Them ultra lights don't fly very high. Besides they're kinda slow so if something happens you might have time to fix it before you hit the ground.
Seriously, can you imagine the possibilities. What if you drop the rifle? HMMNNN...I know use a safety cord strapped to your arm, or better, around your neck. Hope that cord aint long enough to let the rifle get into the prop. Or like you said, "Hey I think I smell gasoline, uh oh!"
Maybe it is a two seater and someone else is flying while he shoots. I hope he is being safe, it's just that when I thought of someone doing this... Well I'm from the south east Texas thickets and we use to get pretty bored. It's a good thing we didn't have any kind of flying machines. Dirt bikes, Jeeps and old pickups were dangerous enough. That old TV show Rat Patrol gave us enough bad ideas. At least we didn't alter the innards of the semi auto .22 we mounted on the jeep. Full auto is illegal. Besides it uses too much ammo that way. ( So I 've been told.)
A close friend of mine once uttered these prophetic words, " We were having so much fun I didn't think anything bad could happen."-----
Hey Byron, I got to know more about the ultra light guy.

Sorry I'm just getting back. Been real busy. This friend of mine has a permit to shoot coyotes and hogs from his plane. He and the game warden do it all the time. They have been trying for a couple of years to get me up in it. He said it's like a big parachute it can't crash . I told him they said the Titanic wouldn't sink either . I may get the courage to take them up on it this year. If I do I'll take some pictures and video for ya'll. Good Hunting Byron ;D

I have an "El Coyote" style rifle as outlined in the book BLACK MAGIC: THE ULTRA ACCURATE AR-15. I got a DPMS Hi-Riser upper and a Colt bolt and carrier. I sent it to Compass Lake where it got a 19" Kreiger "experienced" barrel, a floating handguard and one of Frank Whites gas taps. I mated it to a DPMS lower with an Accuracy Speaks single stage trigger and an Accu-Wedge. Mounted a big 50mm Nikon on top and a B-Square bi-pod on the bottom and zeroed it. I have been shooting it for 3 years now and it is unsurpassed as a varmint rifle. Shoots way sub-moa with any resonable load. I have shot a scad of crows with it, hogs, coyotes, and this year a cull spike buck. Honestly, if you can get it on the bi-pod and settle in good, anything within 300 yards that its cross hairs settle on is in dire straits of being hit. It is one of the easiest to hit with rifles I have ever owned. Another good aspect of the AR-15 platform is that their is no bedding to go sour like on the wood stocked rifles.

Well the new AR did a fine job in the pdog fields the other day, made some really good shots with it. I am really impressed with the accuracy of the 20 inch barrel I have, it is close to any rifle I have. Odie tried out his new project AR also and it did a really great job for him too. Just need to blast some yotes with it now.

Bozo, We went back out and shot pdogs til they surrendered and went home, then after dark went calling out at Mark's and at the draw on the east side of the ranch, didn't call up anything that we saw. I forgot about showing you the gun, but it sure does the job on the dogs, Mikie was whinning it was a little loud with me shooting from the back seat, but he never offered to swap places.
